1] Chairman’s report

Martin welcomed everyone to the meeting and thanked them for attending. He paid tribute to all those we have lost over the last three years and mentioned Peter Mason a past chair who died just before lockdown. He said something about Covid and getting MOF’s back to normal. Asked for new committee members as he was stepping down as chair, Thanked Stella, and Linda for all the effort and hard work they have put in as they are retiring from the committee.

2] Reports from Groups leaders

Camera club - Senga Mason paid tribute to Tony Kerrigan who recently died. The camera club will continue under Senga’s leadership – They meet up on a Monday and like the walking group they do not know from week to week where they are going as everything depends on the weather.

Walking Group – Senga Mason reported on the walking group, and how with the help of John Harris they held a weekly Quiz on zoom to help keep the group in contact thought-out lockdown. – And as we all see from Facebook, they are back out there, and they walk on average 5 plus miles and meet at Greenside every Wednesday morning at 9:30am. Note: The gents in the group meet for a Pie & Pint approx. once a month.

Ukulele Group- Helen Whitefield reported Martin had them all playing the same songs at the same time each week while in lockdown even if it was separately. And then they were meeting up in members gardens while the weather was good last year but, they are now back in St Oswald’s Hall Wednesday afternoons from 2pm onwards. They recently played for the Kirkmichael Garden club’s 10th anniversary party at McCosh Hall – to approximately 30 guests. We hear that it went exceptionally well. Helen stressed that this is a fun group who go to enjoy playing and singing together.

Art Group – Meet in Goudie’s 10am -12noon. They are a small group thoroughly enjoying their Fridays at Goudie’s with good chat, great Coffee, and perfect paint pals!!!

Bingo- We have been playing since October, every other Tuesday. We started with a grant from MOFs. we have re-paid over £100 back into MOFs. Most of our money goes into the prizes. Accounts printed for members to view.

Knitting Sewing and Nattering Group - Mondays and Thursdays 10am until 12.30. The old “Knit & Natter” and “In Stiches” sewing Group, have joined forces. We meet at Goudie’s boot room for a very relaxed get together twice a week everyone welcome.

Monday Lunch Club – meet on Mondays at 12.30pm. We have been going out and about so far, we’ve been to Goudie’s, Kirkmichael Arms, Secret Garden, GRO, Diary corner, Balkenna, Chestnuts, The Carrick centre, Coo Shed and Balgarth Pines. We plan to try loads more always coming back to Goudie’s on a regular basis.

Theatre Group – We went to the Gaiety Theatre Saturday 19 March with dinner in the stage door café. The Everly Brothers Dream. Our next show planned for May.

Short Walking Group – not just for short people, started by Martin and Chic in October they walk on a Friday meet at Greenside10am we walk approximately 2miles.

Yoga – Karan Steven has returned. Yoga is every Tuesday Morning 9:30am – 11am the classes are now an hour and a half. Both yoga groups are open to all. The Chair Yoga – Is alternate Tuesdays 11.30am – 12.30pm this is also held in Goudies. With help from some funding these groups are growing and hopefully will be self-supporting by the end of the year. Goudie’s are displaying a poster. Open to all.

Lawn Bowls – we were asked about an open day for MOFs to give it a try!

Aqua Trim at Maybole pool – NOT A MOF’s group - this has re-started and is limited to 24 swimmers it’s on Tuesday & Thursday’s places must be booked in advance. 3] Treasurer’s Report – 3 years Accounts – a copy of the balance sheets of each of the three years for members to view and comment upon. And to ask any questions etc. printed for all to see. Any member who would like copies e-mailed to them just ask.

8] Bus Trips – Thursday 12 May 2022 Largs stopping at the Carlton for high tea on the way home. £20.00 per member £25.00 per non-member non-refundable deposit of £5.00 required.

Second Bus Trip Planed for August/September to Dundee V&A.

9] Our second Burns Supper 2022- we had another good night with 24 members plus some guests & lots of feedback, yes, we would like to do this again but maybe in 2024 with a few changes as we need to keep it fresh.

MOF’s Fund raising

Charity shop – Total profit after expenses over the 2/3 years = £2,029.29. 2 days in Feb 2020 [raised £180] - Pop -up charity shop July 2021 [raised £127.00] September 2021 [raised £925.25] – March 2022 [raised £1127.04]

MOF’s Craft Fairs – Total profit after expenses over the 2 fairs’ = £ 466.00 We had our First ever CF in October at Goudie’s [raised £220.00] We had our second CF at the Carrick Centre. We had a great day with more crafters and excellent footfall. [raised £401.00] We are planning another one/two this year.

MOF’s Calendar - Total profit after costs over the 2 years = £386.00 Calendar 2022 - Printing £423.00 [Sales £612.00] Profit after costs £189.00 the new small A5 size at £4 was a great seller - Sales @ - spar £264.00, Craft Fair £158.00, Goudie’s £42.00 members at groups/meetings etc. £148.00. Calendar 2021 - Printing £430.00 [Sales £627.00] Profit after costs £197.00

Hogmanay Raffle- Total profit after costs £64.00

Tickets sold 522/1000. – printing £108.00 – prizes £350.00

Libby’s –Made MOF’s one of their weekly causes. We would like to thank Libby’s and their customers. We do appreciate their support.

Co-op Local Community Fund – Maybole Over 50’s was chosen to be one of 2020s beneficiaries of the Co-op Local Community Fund. We raised funds to help pay for room hire Total raised £1,956.60 A big thank you to all the Co-op staff and Members.

Goudie’s and St Oswald’s - both gave us favourable rates to allow us to restart MOFs after lockdown.

Funding Grant for Yoga & Chair Yoga - from South Ayrshire HSCP [heath & social care partnership] to help both Yoga groups – We would like to thank everyone at South Ayrshire heath & social care partnership for their support, helping us to continue our Regular Yoga class and making it possible for us to start the new Chair Yoga class.
