I am writing to advise that Transport Scotland awarded the contract to build the A77 Maybole Bypass Project to Wills Bros Civil Engineering in April
Wills Bros have now commenced project works to construct 5.2km (3.1miles) of new single carriageway to the northwest of Maybole, which will include opportunities for overtaking, and new roundabouts at the
tie-ins to the existing A77 at Broomknowes and Smithson, and at B7023 Culzean Road.
There will be an Underpass at Broomknowes Roundabout and three principal structures at the following locations:
Gardenrose Path (overbridge)
Kirklandhill Path (overbridge)
B7024 Alloway Road (underbridge)
Climbing lanes will also be provided on the following sections of alignment:
A northbound climbing lane from the south roundabout, through to the B7023Culzean Road roundabout
A southbound climbing lane commencing north of Alloway Road
Upon completion, the Maybole Bypass will separate local traffi c from those travelling longer distances, including to the port of Cairnryan.
This will provide better journey time reliability for road users as well as improved safety and environmental benefi ts for the local community.
It is expected that the Maybole Bypass will open in Summer
2021. Wills Bros will strive to ensure that there is as little disruption or inconvenience caused as possible during the construction phase and thank you in advance for your co-operation and understanding.
you require any further information on the works please contact Bridget Casey, our Community Liaison Offi cer on 0800 118 1661 or at email firstname.lastname@example.org Yours faithfully,
