Minute of Annual General Meeting of Maybole Over 50’s held on Thursday 14 May 2026 at Maybole Town Hall, Maybole, at 1pm
Mrs Senga Mason welcomed members to this the 10th Anniversary of Maybole Over 50’s. It was mentioned how this organisation came about, how the groups were formed and the numerous friendships that have formed over the ten years. This was all based on the volunteers who took on positions of chair, secretary, treasurer, committee and leaders of groups. Over the years there have been several bus outings, trips home and abroad, and the memories made from these. Craft Fairs and events were also held.
It was noted that we have enjoyed the coach trips, we fear that due to increased cost of hire and meals we may have to increase the price of these in the future.
Sadly, this week we lost a member in Mrs Jackie Wilson, and our sympathies go to her husband and family. And over the years we have had to say goodbye to a few other good friends as well.
Report on Groups
Walking Group – still managing to go out every week, to various locations. Photographs are always enjoyed on social media. Meet Wednesday morning 9.30am Greenside
Camera Group – a few members meeting up to visit places and photographs have been used to complete the annual calendars. Meet Monday afternoons
Out & Abouters – meeting up on the 2nd Friday of the month and using their bus passes to journey to other local towns.
Small Walking Group – also meet on Wednesday morning after the big walk have gone 10am and usually do about a couple of miles aways going to a coffee shop on route.
Knit and Natter – good numbers meet at the lounge in Crosne Street each Monday and Thursday mornings 10am until 12.30pm
In Stitches – meet at the Nccbc HQ old golf club, on Monday afternoons 1.30pm until 4.30pm on display today was a banner created by the group to be taken to events.
Chair Yoga – doing well, will return in June as Tutor has had a knee operation, Tuesday afternoons 2pm St Oswald’s
Ukulele Group – going well, have been entertaining at a few events, and some more to come, good numbers taking part, Wednesday afternoon 2pm St Oswald’s
Theatre Group – have been to a few events, mostly at the Gaiety Theatre, Ayr. If interested in attending, please let us know.
Art Group – meet on Friday mornings 10am until 12noon at St Oswald’s, various mediums being worked; new members welcome to come along.
Craft Fairs – thanks to all who have volunteered and given donations etc.
Panto – King’s Theatre, Glasgow, - this has become an annual tradition we have Started a list for this year the panto is “Aladdin” and is booked for Wednesday 9 December 2026 at 1pm, cost will be £35 for members and £40 for non-members. It would be appreciated if this could be paid By the end of August.
Treasurer’s Report – Jackie had a balance sheet and full spread sheets on display of accounts, and if anyone would like a copy of the accounts, please contact the committee and one will be emailed to you.

Chair – S Mason - proposed and seconded by J Johnston and B Dickson
V Chair – C Johnson - proposed and seconded A Holt and M Richards
Secretary – A Walker nominated voted to remain status quo
Treasurer – J Johnson nominated voted to remain status quo
This was agreed to. Committee members were status quo with no further additions.
Liz Woodburn, Bill Dickson, Susan Wilson, Alison Holt and Maria Richards willing to serve another year. Thanks to all for serving on committee and office bearers

Outing to Edinburgh – There are still one or two seats remaining, the coach will be leaving from the Greenside at 9.00am; returning to Hollybush Inn for High Tea.
Memberships due today – still only £12.00
June 19 – we will be in the Gatherings for an Information Hub for a week to promote the works of MOF’s, all welcome to pop in.
Picture Boards Display [your photos and memories] 10 Years of MOF’s will be collected and Displayed at the Gatherings during an information week – to be added to gallery on web site after event [all photo’s will be copied and returned]
Senga then introduced some of the members from the Ukulele group to play for members.
Business concluded, a beautiful cake was cut, and a light lunch was available. Members were invited to view the displays that were at the side of the hall, they contained various works from the groups.
