Minutes of General meeting held on Thursday 2 November 2023 at 1pm in St Oswald’s Hall, Cargill Road, Maybole
S, Mason chaired this meeting.
J Johnson gave an update on the number of members to date.
Outing to Dumfries & Devil’s Porridge – this was enjoyed by those who had gone on the day. At the next meeting in the New Year the May outing will be discussed.
Remembrance Day Service – 12 November 2023, Maybole Town Hall, 10am, there will also be a service held at the Flagpole, Greenside on 11 November at 11 o’clock. A wreath will be laid at the Memorial on the 12th.
Out & Abouters -the next outing will be Friday 17 November 2023 and this will be going to Troon, times will be given nearer the date (please note change of date for this outing).
Christmas Markets- a copy of suggested trips either to Manchester or Liverpool was circulated to members prior to today’s meeting- this would be 3nights/4days in length. If anyone is at all interested in this trip, please contact MOF’s as soon as possible so arrangements can be made.
MOF’s Craft Fair, Friday 24 November 2023. This will be held in the Carrick Centre, 6-9pm. Looking for some volunteers and donations please.
Wednesday 20 December 2023 – there will be a sandwich lunch at 1pm in the Cargill Church Hall with entertainment by the Ukulele Group. As there will be no charge for this, it was suggested that a donation can be collected and given to a charity. Also, a small raffle will be held.
Co-op Fund: - J Johnson said that MOFs had been chosen to be one of this year’s 2013-24 beneficiaries of the Co-op Local Community Fund. Please log in to MOFs website where it is explained how you can help with this, there is also a link as well to the Co-op website.
Edinburgh Tattoo 2024 – secretary had enquired about going to the Tattoo 2024, at present there were tickets still available at a lower level on the last week of the Tattoo, after discussion the most suitable date would be Tuesday 20 August 2024, rough calculations including hiring bus this would be in the region of £110 – if anyone is interested in this please get in touch as soon as possible and a deposit would also be required
Committee meetings will be held on the first Monday of the month.
